The y-axis reflects aggregated entries to the nine most frequented stations [Exhibit 1]. Off-peak discount levels are determined by the comp miles associated with riders’ specific itinerary (entry – exit combination).

Data has been smoothed to limit noise created by riders’ tendency to travel at “common” times, i.e., leaving from home or office on the hour or half-hour and arriving at entry stations 6-12 minutes later. See behind Exhibit 1 for a more detailed explanation.
